Excel Industrial isn't a franchise, a call centre, or a fleet of white vans with a 1-800 number. It's two career technicians who got tired of watching the overhead door industry overcharge and underdeliver — so we started our own shop.

Our Story
Two careers. One shared frustration. A better way to run a door company.
Bob earned his Red Seal for welding in 2012 and spent years in oil & gas and mining before transitioning into the industrial door industry. With a decade of hands-on experience in commercial overhead doors, dock equipment, and gate systems, he saw firsthand how traditional overhead door companies operated — bloated overhead, slow response times, and technicians who didn't have the authority to make decisions on-site.
He started Excel Industrial because he knew there was a better model: skip the layers, hire the best technician he could find, and deliver direct-to-client service with zero runaround.
Jamie has been in garage doors since he was 18 years old — that's 25 years of commercial and industrial door work. He started in the Toronto area, learning every type of overhead door, rolling steel, high-speed, and dock system from the ground up before relocating to Vancouver about 10 years ago.
Bob and Jamie worked together for three years at Overhead Door Vancouver, and the partnership was obvious from day one. Jamie's depth of hands-on experience across virtually every door system on the market — learned from the best in the business over two and a half decades — combined with Bob's welding expertise and business vision, made the decision to team up at Excel Industrial a no-brainer.
